In accordance with the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016: Great Britain
Following BREXIT, United Kingdom has adapted its legislation in the matter of marking for placing various goods on the market. In particular, for the pressure equipment and the sets with a maximum allowed pressure higher than 0,5 bar, the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 shall apply, except for the exclusions provided by the same document.
These regulations contain the majority of the requirements of the Directive 2014/68/EU, but require that the activities that according to the PED Directive would be charged to the Notified Body or a Recognised Third Party, are carried out respectively by an Approved Body or a Competent Body.
Approved Bodies, Recognised Third Parties Organizations (RTPO) and inspectorates of the users can evaluate the products and processes for the UK market in reference to the essential safety requirements of UK (which are the same essential safety requirements as the EU) for the activities for which they have been approved.
The bodies and the RTPO approved in the UK have to be established in the UK.
The products (and the materials) subjected to Notified Bodies sited in the EU that carry out the evaluation of conformity of the EU will be accepted on the UK market until the 31st of December 2022.
After this date it will be necessary to satisfy what indicated above, and in this perspective C&P has established an agreement with HPi CEProof LTD https://www.hpivs.ie/ as a UK Approved Body for the supply of services of certification of pressure equipment directed to the UK market.
We invite the clients who need to export pressure equipment or sets to the UK, and who fall under the PER 2016, to contact our office to receive information or to request a quote.
